The holiday season is here again, and what better time for the team at Dr Geoffrey Wexler Orthodontist in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula to wish you a joyous and festive holiday season!
After a busy year perfecting smiles, Dr Geofrey Wexler and all the staff at our two orthodontic clinics are looking forward to time spent with family and friends, enjoying holiday festivities and welcoming the New Year.
While we are relaxing and rejuvenating, preparing for an even better 2019, it’s important to stay on top of your orthodontic treatment. Follow our top tips for the holidays to ensure your braces or Invisalign treatment stays on track.
Orthodontic Care Tips for the Holidays
- Invisalign is an innovative teeth straightening solution. It is discrete and removable, meaning it supports adult lifestyles. However, remember that it is recommended the Invisalign clear aligners are only removed for a maximum of 2 hours per day. While forgetting once won’t harm your treatment, continual removal for longer than 1 hours will delay treatment time. After your Christmas lunch, remember to replace the aligners.
- Don’t wrap your Invisalign aligners in napkins or serviettes or risk them being damaged or thrown out. Make sure you keep your protective case close by to avoid situations like this.
- If you are wearing braces, try to avoid sticky sweets and biting on hard foods. Candy canes, crackling and toffee have the potential to break or damage the wires on your braces.
- If you are planning on travelling abroad during the holidays, follow our guide for traveling with braces.
From the entire team at Dr Geoffrey Wexler Orthodontist, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you in 2019!
