Everyone wants to look and feel their best on their wedding day. After all, the big day has likely required months of planning and is certainly an event that will be imprinted on your memory forever. But how do we get our teeth looking their best? And how much time is needed? There are a few options for invisible braces for brides and grooms, including Invisalign and SureClear aligner systems, as well as lingual braces behind the teeth. All these options will work to effectively straighten your teeth, while providing a discrete option that allows you to smile. But which option is best for you?
Invisalign & SureClear Aligner Systems
Clear aligner systems may provide the ideal teeth straightening solution for brides and grooms who have enough time before the big day.
Clear aligners work as a series of trays, that add pressure to the teeth and move them into desired position. Systems such as Invisalign and SureClear often take as little as 6 to 12 months to take effect. Additionally, they are removable, so if you’re running short of time and treatment is not yet complete, they can be removed for the duration of the event – even the attachments that hold the aligners in position can be removed and replaced by your orthodontist.
Invisalign can offer lifetime results for more pronounced misalignment issues, while similarly, the SureClear aligner system is ideal for shorter treatment times (and proves less costly too).
Lingual braces are braces behind the teeth. This system works to perfect your smile entirely invisibly, so the braces can continue working on your wedding day and beyond if need be. Lingual – or inside- braces are the most invisible braces for brides and grooms. How much are lingual braces? This option can be slightly more expensive due to the time intensive processes involved. However if you’re looking for an invisible braces solution that will provide results for the big event, this may be a suitable option for you.
Time Running Out?
If your wedding day is just around the corner, and time is rapidly diminishing to straighten your teeth, there’s no need to worry! Dr Wexler can provide a number of solutions… Clear aligner systems as mentioned above are of course options. However, if you already have an appliance – perhaps the traditional metal wire and bracket braces – Dr Wexler can remove and re-apply the appliance, leaving your smile unencumbered for the day. A short amount of time without your teeth straightening system in effect won’t noticeably delay treatment time either.
Preparation for your Wedding Day
If you’re beginning to plan for the big day, now is the time to consider your teeth straightening options too. Book an appointment with your orthodontist as soon as possible to discuss timing, so your long lasting results will coincide with your wedding.
